
Shehbaz Sharif
Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is a Pakistani government official who is the present Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan, in office since 20 August 2018.
Sharif was chosen for the Punjab Provincial Assembly in 1988 and to the National Assembly in 1990. He was again chosen for the Punjab Assembly in 1993 and named Leader of the Opposition. Chosen a third time in 1997, Sharif was confirmed as the Chief Minister of Punjab on 20 February 1997.
After a military overthrow dismissed the administration in 1999, Sharif went through long periods of self-banish in Saudi Arabia, coming back to Pakistan in 2007.
